Hi,
Thanks for insight on the matter.
I've been doing a little digging and that's what I figured.
As far as I know, my grandfather says that he remembers his father telling he had to learn more than one language in school (about three), which would have been near the time that the country's boundaries and names were changing.
So if the writing in the book is "Ukrainian" and there is a place in Ukraine resembling "Mala Berenza" then would that mean they would be from Ukrainian descent and NOT Czech?
Also if an Ukrainian and a Russian can read the same book does that mean they have the same languages? (Someone told me they did not, but yet a Russian and a Ukrainian have said they can read the prayer book I have.)
(It gets more confusing so I will stop : )
