What do you have that suggest "Czech"?I found a KLENOTIC^ in Slovak Republic's phone book in Brezovica. There were KLENOTIC, KLENOTICSs, KLENOTICZs that came thru Ellis Island.www.ellisislandrecords.orgWhat religion was your ancestor?
You do know that up to 1918 the records would say Austria or Hungary. After the fall of this empire several new countries were formed and one was Czechoslovakia, which in 1993 separated into Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.
