Are you sure they were Czech? and not maybe Slovak?
I found a name S^OLTIS, S^OLTYS in the phone book of the town of Presov, Slovak Republic.
Do you have a name of the town that they came from?
The Czech phone book is at http://phone.quick.czhttp://phone.quick.cz
The Slovak phone book is at www.zoznamst.sk

Would have to have the original spelling of the name from the "old country" to proceed.

The Ellis Island web site is a wonderful place to start but remember there are a lot of misinterpretation of the handwriting so it is possible that they are there if they came thru that port. The spelling could be from the Austria-Hungary era and not as you know the name now.
Michael is MICHAL in Slovak and MIHALY in Hungarian
Check out the alternate spellings of the names.
The name of the town they came from is very important.
