That's really interesting, I know my family was not "transfered", they fled, with just their clothes on their backs. They lost everything. My Grandfather was a Architect so he made a good living I think. But they had to start all over again. When they fled they had been living in Oberplan (Horni Plana)since 1933. But the rest of their families still lived in the Praha region.
My grandmothers brother was behind the Iron curtain still in the late 50's, he was a Ritter. But he died in the early 60's, I know that because I lived with my Grandmother until I was 16 and she sent packages to him every year, but in the early 60's that package came back with a sticker on it saying the receiver is deceased.
That's how she found out her brother had died. Also the name is and has always been spelled LAWITSCHKA or at least as early as the 1850-60's. I realize that there may be no more close or distant relatives of mine in the CZ Republic, but you'll never know until you try.
