According to the census, he was naturalized but I have not found any proof of that.

I tend to agree that Munzak may be americanized for that exact reason. There have not been many Munzak's that I have come across, mostly soundex names come up.

I believe the Munzak's were Catholic. I will be researching the churches in the area that I have found them in on the census records and see if any of them have any records for the Munzak's.

Julia's mother, Marie (Mary) is listed as being born in Austria. I too thought the name sounded German.

I do appreciate your help!
