The Sieur Francois De Morillon is mentioned in a book called the Coutume Generale des pays et duchy de Burgundy in 1679 as enduring a public trial:
cant be sure: its very ancient French but it seems to refer to being jailed.

this is the ancestral home of this family and could well be the link to our De Morillon:

there is some reference to him buying a home at Bar

Otherwise: there are many even earlier records of the last name Morillon going down into Provence and into Indre et Loire at Tours.....
