How can you be so certain your finding is the ancestor who made his way to Acadia?While it is possible, I myself would have stated that here is another "possibility", not a certain fact. You do realize that once you assert that he is indeed the ancestor of the Acadian Cyrs, this information will be added to every family tree in which he is an ancestor... and it could possibly be incorrect, as other than an about date of birth from the Acadian census records, there is little else with which to back it up with proof.
Suppose someone discovers another Pierre Sire baptism in a nearby town in the same year, who then are we to believe is the correct one? Then what?
Also, with all the DNA research Susanne has done, supposedly linking Pierre of Acadia to the Northern French branch of the family, why should he leave from a Southern port as La Rochelle, when Dieppe or St-Malo would have made much more sense?
Just a few thoughts to consider,
