Well indeed thats a good question.....which Antoine. We do end up with a few of them prior to 1800Ad and I will have to double back my notes to clearly identify who I am referring too. At this point I am saying the Antoine who was the father of Pierre Hillarion.......as we know Pierre Hillarion was not a Madawaska Cyr. Here is the challenge: Jean Baptiste and his sons clearly are in Fredericton pre 1785......when the Loyalists arrived to take the land. Just who left the region for Quebec: where the land grants were applied for is open to question. Not all the Acadians did indeed leave at this time. Then of course we have grants being issued and the Cyrs coming back to NB.......but most went to Madawaska: but not all.......some grants were requested for Fredericton as well......and I am not sure which Cyrs those might be. Not all the Cyrs went to Madawaska: and of those who did: some returned with the hunger problems of either 1797 or 1816......but I cant seem to identify who these Cyr ancestors were. There were a few Cyrs in this region working: Cpt Francois for example. .....I have a gap in ancestors: trying to get one for John Croq born around 1817-1821 and his brother Ephraim born 1817...... Both men were born in Kingsclear.....not Madawaska. I need help knowing which Cyrs lived in Fredericton prior to 1817 to see if I can find the right ancestor for these men.
