2 Madawaska Cyr DNA profiles
Posted by: v. suzanne sears (ID *****1949) Date: October 14, 2010 at 15:15:48
  of 2246

As we now know:
we have 2 very different DNA profiles for Cyrs of Madawaska

Which one really belongs to Pierre:
no way to know yet: need more people tested

especially one from his son Jean Pierre.....outside of Madawaska

But lets assume for a moment that the Yvon profile is the legitimate one

When you run this through the DNA data banks:
it comes up
BENELUX MODAL VALUE

Now its still very early days:
and we need more numbers

but basically this means
The usual DNA profile found in Belgium, Luxembourg
spilling into Flanders
is what his DNA matches to

Why this is interesting:
is that indeed in Liege Belgium
there is a very affuent line of Le Sire Armuriers.......

they even own a castle.......

I would have to say:
the facts that we know of Pierre
actually fit this Belgian profile exceptionally well

Handwriting is consistent
Profession is consisten

The only odd part is Acadia

Well it wouldnt be odd for a Belgian to be in Boston selling arms: he would sail right in

Why over to Acadia is another story

Yvons DNA profile gets many many hits in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Denmark.....

It gets 4 hits in France

2 in Flanders near Belgium
1 in Swiss Jura region
1 in Rouen

If the Yvon profile holds up as the valid one

then finding Pierre would be fairly easy.......
the Belgians have a very progressive DNA history project and are actively tracing the DNa lineages of its citizens

The profile posted for Cyr with the other 23 at 390
which I had assumed was a Louis Le Sire.....and could still be

would reinforce this position of Belgic origin:

as both profiles are very similar........

The challenge here is:

is this an old problem:
that
either Jean Bap or Francois was not Jean Crocks son

or was there a mistep later on: an outside event as they say

Or was there 2 Cyr lineages all along and we simply never were able to identify them....as they all mixed into the Madawaska pool.......

One thing is sure:

My lineage of males is clearly Irish:
Yvons lineage of males are clearly Belgian.

Who would have thought this would happen..........wow

And we all came from Cyr farms in Madawaska........hard to wrap our heads around.

But one thing it proves: even with 2 DNA lineages
there is no Native Male DNA in the Madawaska Jean Bap Cyrs......

female: that is a different story: but no male.
