Of course we have a strong history of Belgic Celts moving into England: the backbone of the Brythonic Celts. Here is a list of surnames he matches at 1 or 2 markers off; Barrs Drake Meeks Swiney Bryant Watkins of Devonshire whiting of Berkshire Staffordshire of Dorset Shelton of Staffordshire Biggerstaff Ward of Hull Boatwright Curl: which most acknowledge is Norman Musgrave Coulson Townsend Brown Smithers of Sussex Mason Steggles of St. Bury Edmonds: which is German for hill Jones Colwell: supposedly Norman Keep: Hungerford Berkshire Majors Teague: Bristol (Cornish name) Sturdivant of Cheshire (Wales) Coe of Essex: which is Kay a Norse name for bird Hill Thurgood: old Norse name for Thor Berriman: Cornwall The pattern is very clear: all these names cluster in the very south west of England..........are very ancient and obscure...........and have a heavy Norse influence. This is clearly the home of the Brythonic Celts from Belgium: they were closer to London earlier but feeling the pressure of the Romans they kept shifting west.......and eventually into Brittany That these southern English names show such genetic parity with the southern Irish stock of names is a strong indicator of one stop along the way. We see from what is absent: a large cluster of this DNA in London: that these are more ancient citizens than Angles or Saxons or Jutes or Vikings........ Notify Administrator about this message?
