Ceres and Seras of England
Posted by: v. suzanne sears (ID *****1949) Date: July 12, 2010 at 05:04:39

We find as early as 1379Ad a notice referring to
Guillemyn de Ceres.........a proctor for the King of Navarres family in England in the City of London......

About 100 years later we find this same family c. 1469 now spelling the name as Seras......with clear references to their Belgian origin.

It is hard to determine if this is the lineage that went on to be the
Syras
Syrus
Syris
lines of England.......many whom migrated to the USA

and in turn Seers or Sears.......in later times.......

But this seems to make it clear that this lineage of Ceres is not the same one as the Ceres or Syras of Scotland

and is again the source of another DNA lineage of Sears

Slowly we are sorting them all out.........and we are doing so to clarify if Pierre was indeed French or possibly Anglo or Belgian etc.
