Louis Sire Acadia as Louis Bourqueil Sire
Posted by: v. suzanne sears (ID *****1949) Date: January 30, 2010 at 15:42:32

According to a Belgian Sire/Lesire genealogist:

his records show Louis Sire of Acadia as
Louis Bourqueil Sire..........

He does not show him born in Dunkirk
only his father......Jean who marries RAINBAULT not Raimbault

He shows the grandfather as Louis Bouqueil Sire b. 1615.....origin unknown....

but MARRIES a woman named POITOU IN Dunkirk......

Says nothing about the origins of Sire and Poitou
only that the marriage took place there

The problem we have with that is that Louis Sire goes through a few census in Acadia
and every single time
he says his age
and every time it is consistent with being born in 1692......not 1685

This creates doubt that Louis Bourqueil and Louis Sire are the same man: 7 years is a lot to forget.
