Pierre in Canada
Posted by: v. suzanne sears (ID *****1949) Date: October 09, 2009 at 20:04:38

In France, officers were paid for every recruit they snagged to serve:

Thus if Pierre Sirre came over via the military: a record of someone being paid exists in France........or indeed there would be one for Pierre de Serre........is he is our Pierre.

Additionally, every soldier who came to Canada had to live somewhere: and that was with an existing family.......until forts were built.

Some early family name in Montreal 1665 has history of billeting Pierre de Serre as he was stationed there....and that would apply to Acadia as well..

The early secrets of Pierre Sirre are probably hiding within other first Canadian names........lore, stories, parties, baptisms,........

With only about 3,000 people in all of Canada: it would have been impossible for Pierre to be invisible.

Searching for Cyr records has been nearly fruitless: but searching other family names for links would likely yield something of his first days in Canada.

He had to board in with someone: or if he was in a fort: there is also likely some military or religious mention of him.
