You are a wealth of knowledge! The ship our Thomas Dakin came to america on circa 1650 was called the Abigail, or at least that is what I am told. His first wife Sarah ?, second wife Susanna Stratton. We have located a large group of Dakins in Derbyshire that have been living there for centuries and feel that is where we will make the connection.
My theory is [all speculation] that after the monarchy was overthrown, and Cromwell took control, our Thomas who's ancestors were loyalists in n.america, left for the new world to find a new and better way.
