Ida L Cyr 1911-2009
Ida L. Cyr, 97, wife of the late Fred J. Cyr, died March 8, 2009, at a Greenville nursing home. She was born Dec. 14, 1911, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Maxine and Philomene (Dube) Levesque. Mrs. Cyr was a member of Daughters of Isabella and American Legion Auxiliary. She was the housekeeper for Holy Family Church for many years and cooked for Meals For ME. She was the first woman in Fort Kent to have a driver's license and own her own car. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley LaBrecque and her husband, Leo, of Dover-Foxcroft and Maxine Pelletier and her friend, Charles Graham, of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Cyr of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Leo L. LaBrecque, Janette Lavigne, Janine Bolen, Michael Martin, Kim Larson, Peter Cyr, Brenda Lavigne and Cheryl Tart; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by a son, Fred Cyr Jr.; a brother, Romeo Bishop; and a sister, Theresa Voisine. Friends may call 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville, where a Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to C.A.
