My father's name was Loizou Loizides and I have always wanted to know the origin of that name. I have been told that Loizou came from the Venetians when they inhabited Cyprus --and that Loizou came from the Italian name Luigi -- but don't know if that's true. If you have any information as the the origin of that name I would be interested. Thank you, Elaine Gaitanis
