I was with the United Nations office in Nicosia from 1970-72. During that time my wife and I rented an apartment from a Koumides family at 3 Pelops (Pelopos) Street. That was before the Turkish invasion so I don't know where they ended up. The husband's name was Sophocles and he addressed his wife as Katie (not a very Greek name). Sophocles's mother also lived with them. I do not recall what her name was. At the time Sophocles was not that young and not in the best of health. He and his mother could be long departed by now, but Katie might still be alive. She appeared to be somewhat younger that Sophocles. The family had come to Nicosia from Alexandria, Egypt. They had left Egypt when Nasser assumed power there.
I hope this is of some help to you.
