I,ve been searching for my father for some time now.Leon Nicolaou. Famagusta. He had a cafe in harringay in London in the 1950s 60s and early 70s I was born in 1960 and my name was carmel which was changed to mary as I was adopted in Ireland. My father tried for many years to get me back and when he found out where I was placed he brought the case to the Surpreme court in Ireland in July 1966.the case is on the net as. The state(Nicolaou)v An Bord Uchtala. It was the first time a father ever looked for a child in Ireland.Well he lost the case but my adoptive parents (lovely people) allowed Leon to visit me sometimes this went on for some time but he just wanted me back living with him before my mother gave me up for adoption without his consent. Its a long story but eventually he was not allowed into Ireland. The last time I saw Leon was early 1970s he wispered in my ear You are my Madonna.Well he kept in touch with me untill 1973 the last letter I recived from him said my many cousins where hoping to meet me some day,but this never happened. When I was 18 I went in search of my father but he had sold up in 1973-74. Ive tried many channels to locate where he went to but to no avail. Maybe someone will read this and be able to help me in some way. The longing I have to find out what has happened to him grows stronger as I get older. He may have passed away now he would be about 89-92. But someone out there has to know and if I had somewhere that I could go to say hello and goodbye this would mean the world to me.
