Hi Stefan,

I don't have much census information, but I can tell you more about this man - from what I can find out, he's actually my grandfather too! He emigrated to London in 1937, married my grandmother (Winifred Chambers), changed his name to John Costis, had my mother and uncle, then joined the army as a cook, (still trying to get the formal war records there), and died when his troop ship was sunk in the mediterranean.

I've been trying to find out information about him, both in England, and also from before he moved to England, so was pretty surprised to see your post! Please get in touch.
