Hi Erol
I am trying to help my husband trace his ancestry in North Cyprus. We have a limited amount of word of mouth history but I am not sure how to research further as we now live in England. His father's family is from Sinde (Inonu). You mention this village in one your posts and I was wondering if you have information that may help. The family name is now Basriler, although some use Basrioglu. Other names used before the intoduction of surnames are Basri, Huseyin,Hasan,Mesut and Mehmet. He would like to find out more about their history, we understand that three brothers came to Sinde and that they were originally from Tarsus in Turkey, not sure how accurate this is.
I would be really grateful for any information or guidance you are able to give and look forward to hearing from you soon.
