Your St-Omar/Seymour theory is fascinating...I love things like that. Please see my postings on Bancroft Genforum which mention Seymour as father to a daughter by Queen Katherine Parr and a son by Princess Elizabeth Tudor within nine months of one another.
As far as Hugh le(?) Payen or de Payen goes, I believe that he actually headed the Templar order.
