Hi Matthew, Sorry to take so long to reply but I only do family history when life slows down. I'm in Australia too. Originally from Melbourne but have been in Queensland for ten years now. First of all, I requested birth certificates from the Cypriot High Commission. They in turn sent the info to the relevant authorities. I then purchased a Cyprus phone book and wrote a prolific amount of letters to government departments. This was very slow, all done by traditional mail. I received some birth certificates and other documentation. When my father went back, he decided to visit a government dept. that I had written to. They knew instantly, as I had written many, many letters to get action. If I find a good Cypriot site I will message you. I believe it won't be too long before Cyprus has some sort of genealogical data base as this past-time grows in popularity. Regards and Good Luck Deb Notify Administrator about this message?
