Leonarisso information

I am looking for information about a fmaily member that came from Cyprus. He came to the USA in 1912. He was born in and around 1896. (we think)

He came over under the name Hambis Yiakounig which after searching and a lot of leg work, I found is actully Charalambos Giakoumis.

Charalambos is reported as being from Leonarisso. As we all know from research, this village is under Turkish Rule and all but all the churches and town records are all but gone. (Real nice of them)

If anyone can tell me how or where to find any birth or baptism information of this village, I would really love any leads!!!!!!

Useful village info, pictures, tomb stone info, newpapers, history of the town, town life, anything would be useful!!
