"Kouza" and diminutive "kouzi" in greek cypriot is the clay made pot used to kkep water or wine or other liquids (from french "courge"-courgette hence in Cyprus they a vatiety of bottle like courgettes (marrows) for storing wine or water).
So the name Kouzis is definetely Greek from the above and has nothing to do with Koizis or Koizaris (unless of course it has been corrupted often the case) There is also an occupational name in Cyprus "Kouzaris" = the potter.
