this is very interesting because i have been trying to research my grandmothers maiden surname which was Kouzis or Kusis (Turkish spelling)and her father or grandfather may well have been a well digger. I was interested because we are Turkish and the name sounded greek. It is also true that alot of surnames in Cyprus are occupational. But also what should noted about that your spelling of Koyzis is the Koy is the Turkish word for 'village'
