Ellinas/Scordas family Koma Tou Yialou

I am the grandson of Antoni Georgiou Ellinas b 1908 Koma Tou Yialou near Famagusta Northern Cyprus. The family name Ellinas I am told was given to my family by the King of Greece after the Greek War of Independence in the 1830's.
I am told the original Ellinas ( my grandfathers own grandfather) was quite famous in his day. Apparently he esaped from imprisonment in Famagusta and jumped over the city wall. The original family name was Skordas. I believe Koma Tou Yialou no longer exists? I would be interested in hearing from anyone from that village and any relations. In particular I am interested in receiving any information about my family.
