The name originated from Gultzscholtz. He came over during the American Revolution and also fought in it. Somewhere along the line the name was changed to Cutchshaw and a lot of other spellings.
Don't know about a family crest. The name has something to do with a band of angles or something like that. Will find out about that. I got my information from Laura Elizabeth Cutchshaw. Her husband is the one that had all the information. He gave it all to the LDS before he died. That is all that I know. I've been trying to find out when the name changed.
