Jackson Cutright family origin

It is my understanding that the Cutrights used to be the Cartrights. There were three brothers in the Royal British Army that left the country and settled in Upsur County, WV and changed their name from Cartwright to Cutright.

My ggrandfather is from either Braxton or Webster County, WV. His name is Jackson and he is said to be a wealthy land owner. He may have been in the logging or lumber business. His date of birth is unknown.

Anyone with any info. please reply.
