Thank you for responding to my message. I do have a copy of the death certificate of Mary McClandish Cuthbertson, daughter of Thomas & Mary McClandish of Scotland. I am having trouble tying this in with my Mary & Hugh as my great, great, great grandmother Mary Coulass b: in Aryshire, Scotland was the wife of the Hugh Cuthbertson b: approx 1792 in Aryshire, Scotland. Mary Coulass father was Robert Coulass of Ireland.
I visited Somerville, MA County Clerk office this past summer in Aug (for only an hour as I was with friends traveling) and was disappointed that I did not find records of my relatives as some of them were born in Somerville, children of Thomas Cuthbertson b: 1-12-1822, son of Hugh Cuthbertson, in Aryshire, Scotland, married Mary Vafsie b: 12-5-1822 Aryshire, Scotland, m:5--9-1844 at Barony Parish of Barney, Lanmark, Glasgow, Scotland. Her name later appears as Vassey. Thomas & Mary "Vafsie" arrived in Boston June 6-26-44. Their children born in Somerville were James Brown Cuthbertson b:10-12-1845, possibly a Hugh b: 4-10-1848, Jane Kay b:4-3-1849, John V. b: May 3-1851.
