Hey Teresa,
We are probably distant relatives of some kind. My paternal grandfather is James Cussen of Limerick. It is my understanding that the cussens did originally come to Ireland from France, possibly fleeing the french revolution. So, while i do know of cussens of irish descent living on the east coast of the U.S., it does not seem unlikely that the cussons Sandra refers to did emigrate to canada from france and are not of irish descent in any way.
