There are 2 affadavits in the pension file of Bartholomew Cussen by members of Co., H, 46th Regiment, Indiana Volunteers. Both mention Barthomomew's mother being married to John Dugan. One says that at the time of Bartholomew's enlistment, which would have been Nov. 5, 1861, his step-father, John Dugan, lived near Winamac (which is in Pulaski county) Indiana. The other affadavit also says that his mother was married to John Dugan and lived a few miles west of Winamac. The wording in both affadavits is suspiciously similar and both were made on March 24, 1890 in the presence of the same clerk.
