SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX BENJAMIN CUSHMAN SSN: 502-09-5135 (NOTE: "502" is ND0 LAST RESIDENCE; 98102. Seattle, King, Washington BORN: 8 January 1885 DIED: September 1972 STATE (YEAR) SSN North Dakota (Before 1951) ISSUED EDWARD L. CUSHMAN SSN: 502-01-3522 LAST RESIDENCE: 98102. Seattle, King, Washington BORN: 19 July 1918 DIED: 1 November 2006 STATE (YEAR) SSN North Dakota (Before 1951) ISSUED NOTE: I did not find a marriage listing for Edward L. in the WA State Digital Archives. Might not be an online record, if he married in Seattle, King County, WA. My hunch is that there would be an obituary for Edward L in The Seattle Times or The Seattle Post-Intelligencer. After they entered into their joint-operating agreement, (if not, before) paid family placed obituaries were in both newspapers. Each newspaper published VERY few staff written obituaries. WASHINGTON STATE DIGITAL ARCHIVES. I found death mention for Benjamin but not for Hulda. FARGO CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION: I have emailed their office about Marcia. No response yet. NDSU (North Dakota State University at Fargo, ND) INSTITUTE FOR REGIONAL STUDIES & ARCHIVES. I have done research there. Excellent resource, very helpful staff of reference librarians. 1305 19th Avenue North, Fargo ND (701) 231-8914. email: NDSU.Library.Archives@ndsu.edu. Might be worth contacting them to see if they have any information on the Jewish community in Fargo, ND at the time when the Cushman family lived there (abt 1931- They have phone books going back to the first directories. They might be willing to check for you to see: the first listing (abt 1931) the last listing (maybe during WWII?) Parents: Benjamin and Hulda, and brother Edward L moved from ND to Seattle, probably together, and lived together in a duplex in Seattle to which Marcia and son moved, after the death of her first husband, which was about 1951. ALSO: they have student yearbooks for Fargo Central High School. The FCHS alumni office should also have them. They would not give family information, but would give the graduation years for the children. Mary Ann Pomeroy Hagen FCHS 1952 Now living in Seattle WA West Coast Volunteer Office, American Pomeroy Historic Genealogical Association (APHGA) www.americanpomeroys.org MARSHALL, LYON, COUNTY LIBRARY 301 W. Lyon Street, Marshall, Minnesota 56258 (507) 537-7003 Might be worth contacting them to see if they have any research on a Russian Jewish community in Marshall, Minnesota NOTE: I Notify Administrator about this message?
