I am also on the Cushen Trail. I have seen it written this way by a grandson. It may well be another spelling, now, or as we peel back the years.
I have living siblings of two CUSHENs from Laoghis. Margaret and Elizabeth married two brother's Fingleton. One Fingleton was a Henry and the other one may well be a Michael. Pet names were the go in this family and people were called by their nick-name and where they were from.
For example my contact is going to talk to the 79 year old Phil who was Christened Kate.
There is talk of photos but these are precious and framed.
One of the Fingleton/Cushen Girls moved to Adelaide. Another lives in France. One of the boys James, in his 70's now, christened my son.
I have a website. Be patient. I'm not about to post family pet names here so if anyof this looks familiar get in contace with me via the website. http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/spamjam.
