Steve,
Jesse Curtiss was a corporal at the time of the Lexington Alarm. The Connecticut groups arrived four days after 'the shot heard round the world' April 1775. By May he was a Lieutenant in the First Connecticut Regiment. In January he was promoted to Captain and served until 1777.
In 1794 he moved with his sons to Camden, NY becomming one of the first settlers of the area.
I have his down line through son Ambrose.
Do you have Sarah's connection to Elihu Yale, benefactor of Yale College?? I think he was her uncle.
