There is a family story that maintains that our Curliss family was once CURTISS, and the name was changed to Curliss bacause of a feud. I am looking specifically for James Edward Curliss, b. 1851 in IL, we think. He married Jane Garner in either Ar or OK. He died in OK in 1899. Does anyone know of anyone changing the name from Curtiss to Curliss? Would appreciate anything you have to offer...Pat Curliss-Leiker
