Dear Jan
I just came across your Curry posting from quite a few years ago regarding Curry ancestors from Renfrew County. I think there may be a connection between your Curry family and mine.
My great-grandparents Patrick Curry (1837-1919)and Catherine McDonough (1856- 1931)had among their 13 children a son named Thomas Joseph Curry (Mar 28 1878- May 29 1932).
Thomas married a woman named Bridget Curry. One of her brothers, John Thomas, married a sister of her husband's, Mary. A Curry brother and sister married another Curry brother and sister. Bridget and John Thomas's father was John Curry from Admaston. Bridget's husband Thomas was from nearby Gratton Township, where his Curry family had settled "Curry's Settlement"
Thomas and Bridget Curry had 9 children. Among them was a Patrick Curry who married an Elizabeth Golka. Among their children was another Thomas who married a Marlene Montgomery and had a daughter named Janice.
Is there any chance that you might be this Janice?
Do any of these names sound familiar? I have some more info on these families including where in Ireland the parents of Patrick Curry and Catherine McDonough came from.
I would love to make a connection with another Curry researcher from the Ottawa Valley.
elizabeth
