Dear Jane, just a brief tosee whether there maybe some connection. My Grt Grt G'father George Currie (b.Corrie) in 1800 had a bro James b. in 1790s. He has a descendant now living on Vancouver Is. James and his bro George were born at Kirkmichael near Parkgate NE of Dumfries. Their father James Corrie m. Jane Lockerby and was a custom weaver. George m. Janet Fisher and lived not too far away from Kirkmichael near the Forest of Ae where the 11 children were born of which my Grt G'father John fisher Currie was born 1841. The Corrie name changed to Currie sometime in the 1820-40 period. It was the mention of your James that I felt it was worth letting you know of our family in the event that you might trip over a connection. Even an elimination is progress of a sort. but the knowledge of other families sometimes can discover a connection. Best wishes, George Currie - Methven, New Zealand
