Currie/We(a)lsh 1900's CAN to MI
Posted by: James R. Soltau Jr. Date: December 11, 1998 at 14:06:52

I am searching for information on Arthur Currie from the Toronto, CAN area who married Mary We(a)lsh in the late 1890's and then emigrated to the Detroit, MI area. The family storie goes: Mary was a servant in the Currie household and became pregnant, although Arthur was not the father he offered to marry her. For this action he was disowned by his parents.
Arthur was born in Scotland and died in Detroit at the age of 40. This is all I know about him except that he had a brother Carlus/Carlos in the Algonac, MI area.

Mary was the daughter of John and Mary We(a)lsh and born abt. 1871 at which time her family emmigrated to Canada from Ireland shortly after.

Arthur and Mary's children are
Arthur Currie b 8-25-1905
Norman Currie b 8-25-1905 Twin
Evangeline
Dorthy
Lorraine

Mary also had a child prior to there meeting named Walter.
Any help on either of these people will be helpful.
