Dear Marilyn, this could be a long call but I have a Grt Grt Uncle George Currie who left Dumfriesshire Scotland who would have been born 1830 odd to 1845. His parents were George and Janet of Closeburn Dumfriesshire. George left Scotland 1860 odd to 1880 period with his older brother Charles. They went to Canada where Charles family descendants still reside. After 6 months in Canada George went to USA and all that I know from there is that he had a family but did not live to an old age. I know very little more than that and I would love to learn more of George Currie of ours that went to the US. Our George had sisters Agnes, Janet m. Thomas Johnstone, Jane (spinster), Henrietta (died in her early teens) Elisabeth m. John Duff in Dumfriesshire, Charles, and my Grt G'father John Fisher Currie. If you can enlighten me any more that would be great. Best wishes, George Currie - Methven New Zealand.
