Have some info on descendants of Lachlan & Jane (McNiven) Currie both of Islay. Jane Currie landed at Newark, NJ around 1823 with her 11 children after the death of Lachlan in Scotland. Due to anti-British sentiment at that time, she travelled overland to Ontario where she settled around Caledon. Jane Currie died in 1849 and is buried at Belfountain, ON Her childrens names are John, Archie, Donald, Duncan, Margaret, Mary, Christina, Peter, Neil, Flora & Alexander.
