I have a Joseph Currie (born 21 June 1834, in Dumfriesshire, Scotland - died 25 December 1892 in Columbia County, Wisconsin, USA) married Ellen Slinger (born 28 May 1845 in England died 3 August 1902 in Cambria, Columbia County, Wisconsin, USA). Joseph Currie had brothers William B. Currie(b. 1832), James Currie, and Robert Currie (b. 1838). I beleive they were shipbuilders along with their father in Scotland. Their father's name was Robert Currie married to a Sarah Brand. They are found in the Arlington United Presbyterian (aka Caldwell) Cemetery, Township of Arlington, Columbia County, Wisconsin. Their names are seen at the http://www.rootsweb.com/~wicolumbia/ website. I don't know if this helps.
