Washington Currie, born in North Carolina was married to Annie Walker who was also born in North Carolina. They were married on January 15, 1837 in Haywood Co., TN. I don't know when Washington died, but Annie died after 1887. Washington was most likely from Alamance Co., NC and had moved to Haywood Co., by 1832. Annie moved to Haywood by 1834. Besides the one son I know of, they had several daughters. The one son I know of is, Newton Currie b. January 15, 1836 in Haywood Co., and died after 1887. He married Malvina P. Talley, daughter of John Peter Talley and Jedidah M. Saunders. They were married on August 6, 1866 in Lauderdale Co., TN. Malvina was born about 1846 in Charlotte Co., VA, and had moved to Tipton Co., TN where most of her ancestors had moved to. There has to be a connection with your Currie because of the Washington name. If you have found out anything further, I would appreciate you Emailing me, Barbra Jean, at Ray1693@aol.com
