Would this line be related to the Montgomery Co., Va. line circa July 1798 which had a Rebecca Curnutt, daughter of William, Sr., who married a John Chaffin? She had a brother named William also. (unconfirmed)
A Simon Chaffin may have been father or brother to John. Simon's wife was Agatha Curnutt, daughter of James, (Sr.?)
The Curnutts had lived in the present day Chamblissburg community of Bedford Co., Va. near Elk and Enoch Creeks at the foot of Pyburn's Mountain before moving to Montgomery Co.
Agatha's father,James', estate was settled in 1824 in Grayson Co., Va. (Elk Creek community).
Reuban Cornutt supposedly married a Chaffin, but I can't confirm this. (It may have been Martha or Deresa?????)
The Curnutts lived along Peak Creek, a tributary of New River near present day Claytor Lake in Pulaski Co., Va. They moved to Grayson Co., Va. circa 1801. They later show up in Kentucky. I stopped at that point since I was attempting to work backwards on the pedigree.
Thanks.
