Hello Andrew
I am also a descendant of George and Maria, and a Curnick by birth.Unfortunately I have no more information than you have about them, but would be happy to make contact and to exchange what information I do have about the family.
I am descended from George and Maria's son Arthur Hetherington Curnick, who married Honoria Quigley. They had a son George Arthur and had two sons, Arthur John and George Quigley (not very original in choosing names, were they?).
Arthur John Curnick was my grandfather. He married Ella Welch in 1926, but they separated in 1930 and divorced in the 1940s.Ella raised their children in Sydney so I have had very limited contact with my Curnick relatives.I have some information about my grandfather, who was a well-known jazz musician and served in WWII, but would be grateful for any further information that you, or anyone reading this may be able to provide.
I would also be grateful for any information you may be able to provide about the rest of the family, especially George and Maria, if you have been able to trace their line back, and would be happy to give you any information that I may find about them, or any of the rest of the family, in the future.
Kind regards
Helen Seares
