I am looking for more info regarding Florence Curley. She was my grandmother's biological mother.
My grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Nolan was born March 16, 1912 to Florence Curley and George Francis (Frank)Nolan (born April 11, 1887).
They did not marry, and Mary was raised by her paternal grandparents as their own daughter. It was kind of a family secret. When Mary found out the truth she looked for Florence, but found that she had died at a young age, possibly from appendicitis. Florence had married and started a family before she passed away.
I can only speculate as to the where Florence and Frank had met. I believe he grew up in NYC, but attended college in Nevada. The Nolans also had strong California and Massachusetts ties.
I am working on my family tree, and any info would be helpful.
