Curley Family Genealogy Forum

Hi! I hope that someone can help me. I've been trying to trace my dad's family history for a while but have hit some snags. I did finally find out that his family was from Galway. We think there may be ties with James Michael, but we aren't sure. My great-grandfather was Thomas Curley. He was born around 1865 and his parents were Thomas Curley and Mary Green. Thomas left County Galway around 1884 and ended up in Roxbury, MA. He married Margaret Glennon, originally from County Roscommon. They had ten children, nine of whom lived to adulthood: Mary Ellen (who died in 1894 at the age of five,) Katherine (Kitty,) Margaret, Mary, Winnie, Annie, Tom, Etta, Ellen (Nellie, later became Sr. Rosamond), and John Timothy. Margaret (Glennon) Curley died in 1907 and the children were split up among family members because Thomas couldn't take care of all of them. Some family members had last names of Gately, Coyne, and Glennon. Thomas died in 1917 and is buried in Mt. Benedict cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. He was a laborer, working at places like a rubber factory in Roxbury. My grandfather was John Timothy. He died when I was young, but some of his early pictures bear a strong resemblance to the late Mayor. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know! Thanks.
