Shauna - you need to work backwards. You know when and where your folks were born. Find out where their parents came from. You're speaking of very recent history. It shouldn't be that difficult. Probably your mother knows where the Curleys and Nolans came from in Ireland. Obtain copies of the death certificates for your great- aunts and grandmother. No doubt they contain useful information. Generally they'll show the names of their parents. When you get them across the water, you may be able to track at least another generation back. Irish civil records are scant before 1864. But there are parish records available for many places, and once you know where to look, you may get lucky.
