I am seeking information on any of the following CURLEE individuals, their families and ancestors:
Jettie CURLEE (1881-1933), m. 1896 probably in Chattahoochee Co, GA Ephraim Jordan "Bud" SIZEMORE (1876-1959), son of James Marion & Caroline (PATE) SIZEMORE. Both are buried at the Mt. Paran Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (#2), now on Ft. Benning Military Reservation, Chattahoochee Co, GA, and had 11 children b. 1897-1927.
Johnnie Lee CURLEE (1905?-1987?) m. Thomas Franklin "Pete" SIZEMORE (1895?-1976?), son of David Franklin and Lula SIZEMORE. David is a nephew of James Marion SIZEMORE above. Johnnie is said to be a sister of Jettie.
Jeff CURLEE m. Etta SIZEMORE (b. JAN 1893). Etta is also a daughter of David F. & Lula SIZEMORE.
John CURLEE m. Sara Frances "Doll" McKENZIE (dates not known--sisters b. 1891 and ca. 1887), dau. of Lee & Mary Ann (ROBINSON) McKENZIE. Mary Ann ROBINSON (m1. Arrington ROYALS) is a niece of James Marion
SIZEMORE above. This family lived in the vicinity of Chattahoochee Co, GA. John is said to be brother to Jettie above. John
and Doll may be the same as Will & Frances (McKENZIE) CURLEE, who had a son Ephram Will CURLEE, b. 06 OCT 1912 at Cusseta, Chatttahoochee Co, GA. Ephram m. 03 JUL 1940 in Sumter Co, GA, the second of three husbands of Sarah Frances HOWELL (b. 1914; m1. PHILLIPS, m3. HAYES). There is no issue known between Ephram and Sarah. I have further data on Sarah.
Carl Eugene CURLEE m. Lucy Ann "Lusiane" PATE (1879-1965), daughter of Marion Jordan "Med' & Sarah C. Ann (RYALS) PATE. Med is brother to Caroline (PATE) SIZEMORE above. Carl and Lusiane had three children (I can provide
information on descendants in this line if anyone wants it--they use spelling CURLEY).
Robert CURLEE m. Grace WILLIS, dauther of ? and Minta (WALKER) WILLIS; Minta is daughter of James G. "Doc" & Mattie (BARTLETT) WALKER The WALKER family has ties to the SIZEMORE family. Robert and Grace had two daughters, Marjorie and Martha Nell.
Susie Lee CURLEE (b. 1905) m. DEC 1924 prob. in Chattahoochee Co, GA to Clifford C. WEED (1903-1971), son of Melvin L. & Mollie L. (CLARK) WEED. Susie and Clifford are both buried in the County Line Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on the Chattahoochee/Marion Co. line. Clifford's first cousin, Aussie S. WEED, married Mattie SIZEMORE, daughter of Bud & Jettie (CURLEE) SIZEMORE.
William CURLEE m. Beulah UNDERWOOD (1892?-1982?); Beulah's niece, Thelma UNDERWOOD, m. Andrew John SIZEMORE, nephew of Bud and Jettie (CURLEE) SIZEMORE.
I have been told by cousins that the CURLEES had Native American ancestry and that some of them "looked Indian." Other names tied to the above include KEMP, CULPEPPER, MORGAN, GRISSOM/GRISHAM, MELTON, POPE; ROYALS appears as RYALS, RYLES, RILES.
