Here it is, December come and gone and the weather cold enough to freeze the soul of an average humanitarian, yet there are but six marriages reported for the whole month. What on earth will become of posterity if this thing continues. Who'll be the ancestors a hundred years hence, if this matrimonial business don't improve in cold weather. Only six weddings in December. Just think of ye soul visaged gaunt, hungry looking, loveless, unloved, old bald headed baches. Think of it and go hide your heads with shame. Only six marriages in Lucas County in December, among a population of fifteen thousand. Here is a list of the happy souls:
