Carolyn, thank you for your detailed response. My line is through Martha Curl (1750-1828) who married Solomon Edwards (1748-1823) possibly in Southampton Co., Virginia. Martha's brother, Thomas Curl, died in 1777 in Southampton, leaving her his entire estate.I think she may be the daughter of Wilson Curl and Mourning Armistead but thats just a guess and based on Wilson's buying land in 1770 in Edgecombe Co., North Carolina next to Solomon Edwards' land.He bought more land in 1779 on the south side of Compass Creek -- by then part of Nash Co., North Carolina.I think this Wilson was the son of Wilson Curl and Priscilla Meade.I've been trying to prove that for years but can't seem to find any definite proof.Have you tracked this Wilson or do you have any information about Martha? Thanks for your help.JoAnn
